It was nearly impossible to get a 1971 Porsche 917 longtail, because the Top Slot kits were immense expensive. But Victor from MMK productions made the same model some years later and so I took the chance to get some of them. My first one will be the #17 which startet in Le Mans 1971.
The conversion:
The kit inculudes also the decals but the orange parts weren't easy to put on. So I decided to put them off again to paint these parts.
Similar to other 917 resin kits, you need a FLY Porsche 917k to complete the kit.
I tried to put in the FLY interior because it looks way better than the Lexan inlet which is included in the kit. Not an easy job, because the model is very flat.
A nice detail which isn't included in the kit. I made some wing-holders our of neadles.
And then I painted the rims. I don't know why Porsche painted them, maybe a hommage to France? COuld be, but I have no information about that.
