The basement:
This time I udes the Lufthansa version from the international championship from 1972. The original had frontlamps but Fly only printed them on the body so I could remove them without problems.
The conversion:
At first I had to carve the complete model, which isn't very difficult.
I looked at the color and it looked very familiar to me. I compared it with a Fly in Gulf-livery and it was exactely the same color. I removed the Lufthansa decals and I needn't paint the body new.
The arrrows were painted by airbrush and with selfmade calibers. The driver got his first new helmet color; red. Two white stripes and a cross followed, which made the dirver looks like Jo Siffert.
The mouth was painted in a self-mixed darkgreen (also with a caliber).
There is a decalsheet from Patto's Place but it itn't completely correct so I used the right decals and made the rest by myself. Original photos of the Targa from 1971 helped me a lot.
Here you can see the difference between the two arrows. The left-one is finished with seven little black decals around it, the right-one not yet.
