Porsche 917k Targa Florio Test March 1970

The basement:
This time a Porsche 917k which ran also at the test days of the 1970 Targa Florio race. The car crashed so hard, that it was impossible to rebuild it until the race.

The conversion:
You don't need a lot of skills to disassemble the car. Why I chose the Daytona version? I will explain it later on...

But at first I had to make what FLY didn't. The roof window. You can see the steps on the picture. The window itselfs is 0,5mms plexi.

Here the rest of the body modifications: The window, the "riffles" on the roof and a spotlight behind the rear number.

And now the reason why I had to have the Daytona version. The Targa test days were very soon after the 24hrs of Daytona. So Porsche had only this 917k from Team Austria at these days so they carried it as fast as possible to Sicilia. And because of the lack of time they colored the car red. And I mean "colored" and not "painted". The new color was so bad, that you still saw the Daytona livery underneeth. And I made the same with my model. You can see it very well when you look at the numbers.

The rest were just some color-accents. Here the new window seals.

The interior was mostly original. I only removed the driver because diferent drivers were testing with this car.

The finished model:
