Porsche 996 GT3 RSR Land Motorsport 2005

The basement:
Fot my Land-RSR conversion I used a Scalextric GT3 R because there is no GT3 RSR on the market and also nothing which I could have used to look alike. So I carved a "Schmidbauer-Modellauto" limited edition and used it. The original startet at the 24hrs Nürburgring in 2005.

The conversion:
The model was carved, painted yellow and after that masked fot the second color. I made a caliber and assigned it on the masking-tape.

After I removed the masking-tape was the car yellow and darf blue. But something was missing; the stripe between the two colors in light blue. So I painted the stripe à-la pin-striping by hand!

You can see the new lamps on the top and the old one's below. The orange headlights were used in the LMP2 (GT2) class for international GT-races but on the Nürburgring they drove without them..

The rear wing was also completely changed. The board was elongated, the side parts and the holders were selfmade.

The interior was only white before so I decided to change it as well and to paint some parts black. The driver got its original helmet too.

Here's the painted wing and the front-lip which was completely selfmade. The model was built together with the GT3 Cup and I sent it also to Slovakia for the decals and the varnish (thanks to Milan Tomasek).

The finished model:
