Porsche 997 GT2 RS 1/18

Package:
The red version of Minichamps' GT2 RS is a so called "dealer edition".
That the model will be delivered in the traditional Porsche package.

Body:
Minichamps made a well job with the shape of the body of the most powerfull 911 ever built.
Just the paint is a little bit too thick...

Engine bay:
If you expect any criticism I have to disapoint you.
It looks superb from every angle, even from underneeth.

Interior:
At the first look, the interior looks great. Especially the carbon fibre structures, the carpet or the coloration.
Minichamps is the only 1/18 producer, which put the carpet even on the door panels - nice to see!
At a closer look you will find some mistakes: Missing carpet in the back or the Sport Chrono package in combination with the missing radio -
Such a combination was not possible when you've ordered your GT2 RS

Trunk:
The trunk is also perfect. Every single detail was realized and you find carpet everywhere it has to be.
But Minichamps seems to bit lazy: Or why isn't the hood painted from underneeth?

Wheels/axis:
Not much to say here. Wheels, tires and brakes look great.
But you have to mantion that the suspension looks very strange. The model is way too high in the back.

Details:
Minichamps made a great job in adding some nive details such as carbon fibre pattern.
I just don't understand why they did not add the carbon strucure on the side air intake as well as on the rear skirt?

But the details also show some weaknesses of the model.
Especially the lights are on of those. The LED's in the front were not realized and also the additional corner lights were not available when you ordered your GT2 RS...

Underbody:
The underbody looks great again. Not much to see but Minichamps tried to point out some details.

Conclusion:
The GT2 RS from Minichamps is a model with strengths and weaknesses.
If you have some skills and like to modify your models, this is the perfect basis.
You can make a lot out of this model - stay tuned to see part 2: Comparison with its rivals from AutoArt and Norev.
